The Profile,
The Duke of Wellington Pub in Stanwick is recruiting for a Sous chef to join
a vibrant team committed to producing high quality fresh food. You will have a proven track record in managing the day to day duties in a kitchen, create menus and ensure that all hygiene and food standard and company procedures are adhered to.
The Role
The sous chef is the head chef?s right hand man and is second in command.
They are responsible for the day to day running of kitchen in absence of the head chef
The main responsibilities are as follows;
To supervise the shift, ensuring the quality of food are correct as set out by the business
To have expert knowledge of all recipes, preparations and sections around the kitchen
To ensure the kitchen runs smoothly in absence of head chef
To lead by example
To actively motivate all employees by creating a stimulating working environment
To actively encourage teamwork and teamwork by offering excellent team spirit
To communicate to team members and managers in a polite and courteous way
To take a hands on approach to all tasks set my head chef and managers
To take ownership of all tasks set by managers and head chef, ensuring they are completed by deadline agreed.
To be pro active in solving problems and actively attempt to find solutions
To deal with customer complaints in a polite and professional manner ensuring customers are satisfied
To actively strive to follow up all instructions and communications by all members of team
To ensure all paperwork is completed daily
To lead and inspire junior chefs
Assist head chef in menu writing
To ensure all orders in absence of head chef are placed with correct supplier by the deadlines given
