We have an excellent opportunity for a Sous Chef at a thriving pub restaurant in Hook, Hampshire.

About the Company
Our clients are the owners of an historic pub dating back to the 18th Century. The pub is steeped in history and faces onto a beautiful village Cricket Green. The owners are proud of their range of real ales and are Cask Marque accredited. They also offer an extensive wine list and fine gins. The pub restaurant’s seasonal menus are all freshly prepared and use locally sourced ingredients.

The Role
For the role of Sous Chef you will show initiative and be able to:

Prepare and cook menu items, ensuring that the food sent to every client is of the highest possible standard
Competently run your section with good working practices in wastage control and ensure that standards are maintained
Carry out cleaning and maintain records
Have a good knowledge of food safety and hygiene
Support the Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen
Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen production ensuring quality and consistency every time, in line with the company guidelines
Managing kitchen personnel in the Head Chef’s absence
Taking a “hands-on” approach in assisting with, monitoring and overseeing all production, stock and operational kitchen related concerns

To be successful for the role of Sous Chef you will have:

Previous Sous Chef experience
A strong team player attitude
The ability to multi task
Excellent communication skills
A strong work ethic
Confidence in a busy kitchen
Proven understanding of Food Safety Standards

For the role of Sous Chef our client is offering:

An excellent salary of £24,000 to £29,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience, plus share of tronc
Live in accommodation is available
