Soft Fruit Technician/Sprayer Operator
A great opportunity to join a thriving and progressive horticultural business growing a range of soft fruit (strawberries, blackberries and raspberries) for sale to the supermarkets.
Hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30am – 4pm however, additional hours and weekends maybe required during peak and busy periods.
Salary between £10 – £11 depending on experience
The successful applicant will have the chance to develop their career within the job benefiting from a programme of professional training to build their qualifications and skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plant protection and plant nutrition to our range of protected and field grown crops including the use of beneficial insects as part of our integrated pest management plan and maintenance of beetle banks etc.
* Routine tunnel maintenance, irrigation and grass cutting
The successful person will join a small, friendly and committed team working under direction of the Fruit Crops Manager. As their expertise develops, they will increasingly be expected to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate will be willing to work extended hours during periods of peak workload. The role requires the operation of New Holland and John Deere tractors (orchard type) and standard tractors; a TEAM sprayer (air-assisted orchard type) with full boom widths.
