SITE MANAGER POSITION EARTHWORKS 

Scope

The scope of this document is to define the job description and key performance indicators relevant to the Site Manager. 

Job Description 

A Site Manager’s primary role is the day-to-day operational management of sites undertaken by the company, ensuring they are properly managed in terms of Health & Safety, Quality & Production. 

Site Managers support and report to the Contracts Manager and are responsible for the operational performance on their sites and ensuring all administration requirements are met. 

In summary their responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Ensuring that all activities undertaken on site have been planned, risk assessed and are carried out in accordance with relevant documents safely. 
Actively assisting the Contracts Manager in ensuring tasks are undertaken in a safe, methodical and efficient manner and in line with the overall project programme. 
Ensuring that all works are undertaken and completed to the correct design information, specifications, drawings, and any other Contract requirements. 
Proactively assisting the Contracts Manager with commercial correspondence, including changes, variations, inspections, approvals, queries, and sign offs. 
Ensuring that all site related paperwork is properly completed and submitted on a weekly (or as required) basis including, but not limited to, allocation sheets, GRNs, production figures, timesheets, plant inspections, daily briefings etc. 
Proactively identifying and bringing to the Contracts Manager’s attention, any threats and opportunities on projects to ensure risks are mitigated and opportunities are exploited. 
Planning, preparing, and managing all documents, materials, resources and any other engagements as required, to ensure works are undertaken safely, efficiently, and to programme.
Managing all labour, resources, sub-contractors, and suppliers engaged on the project. 
Working in conjunction with the Contracts Manager to engage engineers or undertake such measurements and record keeping necessary to ensure all project works can be backed up and supported. 
Ensuring all suppliers utilised are done so through the proper procurement procedures and with an accompanying order number and ensuring that all records are kept and submitted required to manage said suppliers. 
Key Performance Indicators 
Take sites from commencement to completion whist:
Achieving zero accidents onsite.
Achieving 100% compliance in relation to quality, i.e., the design information, specification, drawings, and any performance criteria by means of formal sign off for all works.
To consistently achieve or better the production targets set by the Contracts Manager by the proactive means of driving production, innovative working, realising opportunities and threat mitigation.
To achieve positive post-contract feedback. 
Employment Package 

Salary banding: £35-£50k
Vehicle: Company Vehicle ( Pickup Truck ) with fuel card. 
Line Management / Structure: 
o Reports to: Contract Manager 

o Direct Reports: Site Staff
