This highly professional and forward thinking organisation currently have a unique new opportunity for a SHEQ Advisor to join their highly professional and friendly SHEQ team.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director this is a varied and challenging Safety, Health, Environment and Quality role that supports the development of SHEQ strategy for the company. Working closely with the site management team around the UK you will help deliver the SHEQ strategy and be at the forefront of continuous improvement and a summary of all duties is summarised below:-
Drive and improve Health & Safety standards across the company to meet 18001 standards and work towards gaining 18001 accreditation.
Drive and improve Environmental /sustainability standards meeting ISO 14001 standards.
Drive and improve industry accreditations.
Support the Operations Director to develop the quarterly SHEQ Communication Strategy for all sites and levels of staff.
Advise line management on SHEQ issues.
Assist with implementation of new or improvement to existing SHEQ related legislation rules and company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training and site inspections.
Help produce and deliver strategic plans for SHEQ performance.
Statistical analysis in order to identify issues of concern.
Creation of actions plans.
Assist or lead in the investigation and management of incidents.
Advise on areas such as root causation, preventative measures etc
Manage and review business continuity plans.
Help development of systems.
Mentor and develop SHEQ Champions.
Deliver SHEQ training.
Participate in tendering processes.
Oversee vehicle quality checks.
Monitor health and safety inspections.
Ensure accident reporting meet RIDDOR requirements.
Health surveillance checking.
Ensure internal audit processes are in place and adequate for purpose.
Carry put internal audits and reports.
Environmental documentation including permits and licenses.
Applications for this unique role are invited from candidates with previous SHEQ experience at advisory level and if this was in a fleet management /vehicle related industry sector that would be an advantage but is NOT essential as is ISO 9001/14001 and 18001 knowledge. You will however be required to travel to other sites in the UK mainly Nottingham, Hertfordshire & York.
If you are an SHEQ Advisor with previous experience in SHEQ legislation and are in the market for an long fixed term contract role then our client would like to hear from you. You will also need strong communication skills with good business acumen.
