Senior Software Engineer
A Global media company is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer on a permeant basis who will report to the Database Manager. This company is looking to migrate their databases from their on-Prem private cloud to AWS. The tools needed to perform this will allow other database users to have the capability to manage and operate their own database platforms. Some of these databases consist of RDBMS and NoSQL, managing over 100 million customers worldwide
Key Responsibilities
Design software framework and develop its necessary tools.
Build upon Python & Django based applications.
Onboard, support and maintain the automation of tools users will regularly use
Take part in OnCall duties when required for critical toolsets.
Able to collaborate with other database engineering teams to not only to build upon tools but also to increase operational efficiency.
Strategize on building proactive monitoring and alerting to pre-empt outagesKey Skills and Requirements
Past experience working with Python & Python frameworks in software engineering roles.
Full-stack database-driven development experience using open source databases:
MySQL | Cassandra | DynamoDB | PostgreSQL | MongoDB | ElasticSearch | Hadoop.
Previous experience working with Infrastructure automation & configuration management:
Ansible | SaltStack | Terraform | Puppet | Chef |
Strong fundamentals of Linux / Unix
Experience in observing and alerting:
Prommetheus | InfluxDB | ElasticSearch |
Experience working withAWS DB solutions:
Aurora | RDS | DynamoDB | Lambda | EC2 | Cloudwatch | Eventbus | SNS & AMI | Kafka etc |
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
