A very exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to join our Researcher marketing team. This role will drive forward the submission marketing programme across our full portfolio of titles; working with our three subject teams to shape our marketing strategy and cut through to our customers. You’ll be in a unique position to lead the team as we scale and grow – working at speed to shape a digital marketing programme that delivers tangible results.

This is a varied role and a fantastic chance to work at the cutting-edge of our business. You’ll need to be able to spot commercial opportunities and organise the team to drive delivery, while communicating effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be an inspiring leader and passionate about developing others.

What you’ll be doing:

Work with the Director of Marketing to develop and implement the strategy for submissions marketing across our three portfolios: Medicine & Health, Science & Technology, and Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities.

Carry out extensive market research using internal and external data to understand trends in research output and plan accordingly.

Support the setting of goals and KPIs for article submissions. Measure and report on progress linking to the achievement of organizational objectives.

Manage the tactical implementation and delivery of key strategic initiatives that develop channel capabilities, taking full responsibility for resource allocation, deliverables and analysis to ascertain ROI.

Work with Directors and Senior Management to ensure alignment across the department and with company-wide goals.

Communicate our approach beyond the Marketing department and ensure our marketing approach is aligned with the objectives of other internal teams (e.g. Editorial, Production).

Collaborate across the business to deliver a unified and coherent researcher marketing program.

*

Make commercially astute, evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership on issues relating to all aspects of researcher marketing.

*

Lead, performance manage and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of high-level performance, motivation, quality, efficiency and innovation in the team and the larger marketing organization helping to encourage new ideas and constructive feedback.

Oversee the management practices of managers within the department, ensuring high standards of people management are set and maintained
