Business Development Executive – Wallington (Part time, but may consider full time)
The PPMA is a group of trade associations that serves the industrial automation industry, specifically relating to the manufacture and distribution of processing and packaging machinery, robotics and industrial vision, to a number of key sectors, such as: food, beverages and pharmaceuticals.
The association supports its 500+ members by providing valuable services, including trade shows, publications, advertising, International services, business information, networking events and training.
We are seeking a Business Development Exective to work within our Publishing department, which is a key area of the business.
This role comes at an exciting period of change within the team, as we progress with the development of our digital offerings, enabling the successful candidate to build our portfolio for the future.
Whilst the primary focus of this postion is telesales, there will be the potential to grow into a hybrid role including field sales. This will invole an element of travel as part of the sales development programme.
Main functions to include:
* To develop the sales of our existing Machinery Finder pages in our market-leading trade publication – Machinery Update – and electronic platforms
* Sales in our Show Catalogue, logos and display advertising
* Machinery Directory advert sales
* Web platform sales and sponsorships
The role will involve attending relevant exhibitions, along with PPMA events and PPMA member companies at their premises.
The ideal candidate must have a proven sales background (at least 3 years in a direct sales role); be results driven; have a consultative approach to sales, along with strong interpersonal skills. A good level of IT proficiency is a must, as is the ability to organise in a calm and effective manner.
Whilst it is desirable that candidates come from a publishing background, it's not essential. However, the ability to adapt; learn quickly, and utilise transferable skills is paramount.
