Role overview:
The Prospector team of 4 enables the UK and International sales teams to drive business growth via upselling, cross-selling and new customer acquisition.
As a Prospector you will qualify inbound leads across a range of products, identify and build a pipeline of qualified opportunities for the new business sales teams through proactive outbound calls and support Account Managers in building a pipeline of upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
You will primarily be prospecting into UK secondary schools and international schools with some time on the primary school market. You may also be asked to prospect into Local Authorities and other key buyers.
This is an entry level or junior sales role you will also be expected to achieve ambitious lead targets set by the business. You will build and maintain a good level of product knowledge across the entire company software product portfolio and be able to use this to create and qualify opportunities.
Key role responsibilities:
* Accurate forecasting.
* Manage, update, and always maintain CRM
* Build and maintain a good level of product knowledge.
* Achieve monthly, quarterly, annual revenue targets and other critical success metrics
* Initial qualification of inbound queries – then passing over to the relevant seller, ensuring high accuracy levels of qualification in or out.
* Outbound prospect into non-customers (white-space) to build a pipeline of quality leads for the UK and International new business teams.
* Outbound prospect into existing customers to build a pipeline of upsell and cross-sell leads for the UK and International Account Managers.
* Build and manage a pipeline of leads into the sales funnel applying consistent sales process and methodology.
Education and experience requirements:
* Experience in an outbound prospecting role with some evidence of exceeding lead targets is desirable but not essential.
* Thrives under pressure, monitors own performance against set goals.
* Tenacity and dogged determination – the ability to keep going in the face of rejection.
* The ability to close in a sales environment – asking for and gaining commitment to a next step.
* Ability to approach things in a clear step by step way.
* Excellent oral communication and verbal reasoning skills – an ability to build rapport quickly, ask insightful questions, great listening skills, the ability to be able to handle and deflect objections.
* Good influencing skills – you will make an immediate and lasting impression on others, you will be able to adjust your style to meet the needs of different customers.
* Aptitude and confidence to deal with different types of stakeholder and varying degrees of seniority.
* The ability to quickly understand the market and customer base – allowing you to understand what keeps different stakeholders up at night.
