My client in Bracknell is currently in need of a Purchase ledger clerk.

The role:

They are seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk for their Finance team. Reporting to the Accountant, the role holder will focus on maintaining the Purchase Ledger for all invoices owed by the Group are recorded accurately and paid within the correct timeframes.

This role will be highly visible within the business and will therefore require a highly credible individual with the ability to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders across the business, as well as with external clients.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will:

§ Process purchase orders in accordance with the current ISO9001 procedure

§ Resolve purchase order inquiries

§ Process invoices and pass all invoices to relevant authorisers

§ Update ledgers with authorised invoices

§ Check and reconcile supplier statements

§ Set up new supplier accounts in accordance with the current ISO9001 procedure

§ Pay suppliers via BACS and cheques

§ File purchase orders, invoices and statements

§ Complete Purchase ledger month end and reconciliation

§ Take the ‘Ownership’ of ledger, ensuring that any issues are progressed / escalated appropriately

§ Process Costing sheets (monthly costings) for all sections for completed projects

The successful candidate:

Working knowledge of Finance administration and bookkeeping procedures

§ Working knowledge of all aspects of Accounts payable – previous purchase ledger experience is essential

Knowledge of DIMENSIONS system is preferable

§ Clear & Concise Communicator – both verbal & written

§ Computer Literate – Proficient in Microsoft Office

§ Attention to detail is critical

§ Strong 􀆟me management skills

This role’s working pattern is 37 hours per week, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday with a one-hour break for lunch. Benefits include a Pension Scheme and 26 days holiday per year (pro rata, excluding Bank Holidays), etc. The salary is £23k
