Project Engineer
Our chosen business partner manufactures specialist products into various industries but primarily the automotive sector. The process is highly automated and technical and the coating technology is patented. The Project Engineer will be accountable for all the engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. The Project Engineer will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
The day to day responsibilities include tracking the delivery of projects from inception to hand over while managing subcontractors and in house staff. Be the main point of contact for all UK CAPEX/OPEX projects, values will typically range between £1k – £2M. Delivering between 10 to 20 concurrent projects depending on size and complexity.
Key Responsibilities:

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics or computer generated reports.

Research design, evaluate, install, operate or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems.

Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information
*
Develop, coordinate or monitor all aspects of production including selection of manufacturing methods, or operation of product designs.
*
Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and recommend remedial actions.
*
Must be able to perform other duties assigned by management.
*
To deliver projects in accordance to agreed specification and budget.
*
Ensure timely project completion and handover documentation are submitted to the right site teams.
*
Be influential, articulate and persuasive, a relationship builder- establishing credibility with both internal and external contacts at all levels.

Provide Leadership to create a safety culture to ensure Zero LTI and RIDDOR Incidents.
*
To obtain tenders for all sub contracted work and manage the sub contractors on site via on-site permit to work system.
*
To communicate project requirements to all key stakeholders.
*
Provide accurate and concise Gantt charts with milestones and target dates.
*
Deal with any project related issues and the preparation of necessary reports regarding the projects delivery.
*
Ensure a commercial focus with a high level of challenge on project scope and choosing efficient delivery strategies.
*
Ensure project budgets are closely controlled ensuring forecast spend is apparent at all times from concept to closure.

Hold regular site meetings with all key personnel to update, inform and monitor contract progress
*
Ensure employees, sub-contractors and suppliers comply with Health and Safety legislation and individual contract requirements.
*
Ensure key project and programme risks are identified early, and mitigated where possible, with issues and blockers escalated immediately to the line manager.

Work in close collaboration with colleagues, teams and clients forming supportive and positive, open relationships.
Key Requirements;
*
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
*
Some Siemens PLC control/ Programming experience (TIA Portal) or modification knowledge.
*
Experience in RCA.
*
Presentation/communication skills, with the ability to present to board level or shop floor.
*
People and leadership skills.
*
Contract awareness.
*
Full clean UK driving license.
*
HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
*
Preferably 2 Years+ Experience in a Multi Project Delivery Role
