Production Manager
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £30000 – £45000/annum
Our client is one of the UK’s largest fresh produce growers packing for most major UK retailers. They now have a vacancy for a Production Manager.
You will assist the Packhouse Operation Manager with the daily operational activity for the intake, production, despatch areas, processes, quality and for the timely packaging of produce.
You will help nurture, develop, and train your team whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Hygiene standards are maintained.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
• To understand & drive all associated costs with operations, including standard manning, efficiencies and waste.
• To manage, motivate and communicate clearly and effectively with your team, ensuring that appropriate training is recognised and carried out where required.
• Act as deputy for the Packhouse Operation Manager.

• A strong motivator of people. Ensuring a focus on outcomes are maintained during high workloads.
• Ability to operate calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Able to run high efficiency operations using lean production methods and by optimising staffing levels through accurate resource deployment and staff scheduling.
Working hours are on a rota basis and will include evenings and weekends. You will work 5 days on and 2
days off, 44 hours per week. Flexibility will be required during peak periods of production.
