Do you have a strong interest in book print production, great communication skills and a willingness to learn? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Production Assistant to join a production services company working with a wide of variety of trade, academic, educational and novelty publishers worldwide, based in Oxfordshire. (Whilst it is possible to get public transport, it is advisable that you can drive and have access to a car for this role.)

The role would ideally suit someone looking to work in production or project management who is keen to develop sound book production knowledge combined, supplier management, pricing and negotiation skills along with strong project management and stakeholder management. This is a great first role in publishing, with the opportunity to learn about the entire book production, pricing and shipping process.

Duties will include: sourcing new suppliers across Europe, gathering pricing and service levels, getting samples, scheduling and delivery of books and other products, including liaising between the internal sales team and suppliers, sending quotes to the sales team to forward to their clients, following up enquires, advising on production issues for bespoke products whilst monitoring budgets and schedules for all your products. To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate your skills and experience in organisation, negotiation, communication and willingness to learn and develop new skills.

The successful candidate will have a proven interest in book publishing and production, be a self starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, forward thinking, innovative and keen to learn. You will be confident and friendly and have the ability to work under your own initiative.
