Introduction:
We're currently seeking an Operations Technician / Plant Operator / Process Operator to be responsible for the operations & maintenance of a composting / agricultural facility which is based just outside of Bicester, near Ardley. Our client is a well-established company within the renewable energy and agricultural industries.
The Job:
Working on a day shift basis, the main responsibilities for the Operations Technician / Plant Operator / Process Operator include:
Carrying out day to day operations of the composting facility
Processing both food and green waste, creating desirable compost which helps to divert waste away from landfill
Working in a team of 5, you will be moving material around the site using a Loading Shovel or Telehandler
Visual checks and monitoring of the plant, equipment and facility
Keeping the site clean and tidy, helping with basic operations when required, like sorting the plastics and taking this out of the compostable material
Ensuring adherence with health & safety
Other duties as required
Experience and Qualifications needed:
Ideally you will have experience with process operations with a mechanical mind – able to spot faults and able to fix basic mechanical failures
Experience in a composting / waste / recycling / anaerobic digestion facility is hugely advantageous
Experience using a Loading Shovel or Telehandler is essential
Experience working with shredders / screeners /Hurricane machine is desirable
A cracking attitude to work and happy to help out wherever needed
Agricultural experience is perfect for the role
