The role:
You will be an experienced Operator with a background in undertaking practical site-based works and will have demonstrable experience in adhering to site health, safety, environmental and wellbeing standards.
We are looking for Operatives to be based within commuting distance of their Bristol office, however as they work nationally, there will be an expectation to travel and stay away from home regularly.
The will include:
* Aquatic habitat creation: creating ponds, wader scrapes and in-channel river enhancements
* Complex project management: producing feasibility studies, method statements and designs
* Soft landscaping: providing soil preparation, cultivation, seeding, planting and maintenance services for habitat creation and all associated disciplines, such as ecology, ground investigations and remediation for complex infrastructure projects
* Habitat translocation: translocating grass, trees and woodland
* Ecological mitigation and wildlife fencing: building protection for newts, reptiles, badgers, otters and water voles
* Invasive species management: surveying, reporting and implementing on-site control measures
* Habitat management and maintenance: managing and maintaining habitats to meet client requirements
* Mechanical tree and vegetation clearance: safely and efficiently clearing vegetation using tree shears, mulchers and grapple saws
* Agricultural fencing and rights of way: installing stock fencing, post-and-rail fencing, field gates and bridle gates
Person specification:
* Valid CSCS card or equivalent
* Full driving licence, ideally with Trailer Licence (B+E)
* Physically fit and motivated
* Prepared to stay away Monday to Friday (where necessary).
Desirable but not essential:
* PTS AC/DC
* PA1/PA6W herbicide spraying
* CS30 & 31. Other chainsaw qualifications will be looked on favourably
* LANTRA Woodchipper
* LANTRA Brushcutter
* Ideally hold 3-day First Aid at Work Qualification
* Ideally have experience of operating plant and machinery in ecologically and environmentally sensitive environments
* Safety Critical Medical
* Highways England Common Induction.
