We are looking for a highly motivated NPD Manager to join this fast-growing food business, based in Hampshire, and play a key part in the company’s ongoing progression.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for the development of products and packaging from concept – through kitchen recipes and production trials with third party manufacturers – to launch.

NPD & EPD

To own the innovation process: facilitate internal ideas generation & new project evaluation process (stage / gate) to create winning concepts and develop an NPD & EPD pipeline which meets strategic & growth requirements.
To own the product brief for each product/range to be developed, including product & pack specifications, critical path from concept to launch, ensuring that quality and cost targets are achieved with agreed production samples meeting agreed concept recipes.
To deliver the agreed NPD & EPD pipeline against the project brief: end to end project management from brief to post launch review including kitchen recipe development, pack development and liaison with copackers & manufacturers.
Creation of recipes to approved kitchen samples in line with agreed project brief and managing outsourced development chef resource where appropriate.
To organise regular competitive taste panels with attendees having been 'approved' as tasters.
To continually review existing products seeking organoleptic improvements where agreed.
To continually review and pursue savings relating to packaging and ingredients without degradation of product quality including appearance.
The Individual:

Educated to degree level in food science or qualified by equivalent relevant experience.
Experience of managing successful projects from concept to launch.
Passionate about food.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with an excellent package that includes a basic salary of up to £40k (dependent on experience) and a £3k car allowance.
