Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £34000 – £38000/annum
Serve Talent have partnered with a well-established Engineering business to discover a Mechanical Design Engineer for their manufacturing facility based in Dereham, Norfolk. This business sits within the Agricultural industry and distribute their products worldwide.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To manage projects and the design process from start to finish
To maintain and improve the quality of the company products and systems
Design bespoke parts for agricultural machinery
Support meetings with attendance and reports as required.
To respond, as necessary, to technical queries raised by other departments and suppliers.
To aid Sales, Project Management and Service in customer support.
To aid Planning Department to generate Works Orders and produce routings, when required.
To work the hours necessary to carry out the necessary duties. This will entail working a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required.
Conduct other tasks as may be reasonably requested
Compliance with Health and Safety procedures and good housekeeping.
Education / Qualification Requirements:
HNC Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience and Knowledge Requirements:
Essential:
Experience in Solidworks.
Experience of the manufacturing environment.
Experience in the design of agricultural equipment
Experience in creating bespoke design solutions
Skills and Competency Requirements:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Initiative-taking team player with excellent interpersonal and cross-functional working skills.
Capable of prioritising, planning, and organising effectively in order to achieve objectives.
Highly self-motivated with a genuine desire to succeed and help move the business forward.
Confident with Microsoft Office packages.
Strong diligence and problem-solving skills.
