Are you a qualified Vehicle Technician? We are recruiting for a Light Commercial Vehicle Technician for a main dealer based in the Gravesend, Kent area. The role of a Technician is to be a productive technician ensuring full utilisation of all resources and facilities. To ensure high standards are achieved in quality of work, efficiency, and productivity. To maintain customer loyalty by providing outstanding customer satisfaction.

Key Duties:

To diagnose, test, service, and repair motor vehicles;
To investigate, report and advise on vehicle and component serviceability. To Produce comprehensive Electronic vehicle health checks and supporting videos;
To interpret and apply technical service and repair data and read and fully digest all vehicle service literature and updates supplied to you;
To ensure vehicles comply with all safety and manufacturers' standards when returned to customers and record any non-conformance of this on the work request card;
To complete work request forms correctly and neatly, ensuring that they conform to company/manufacturer/warranty requirements and procedures including the recording of damage reports, mileages and chassis numbers, and that they are clocked on/off as necessary;
To ensure that all parts/sundries used during the course of a service/repair are accounted for by either a parts department invoice/picking slip attached to the work request card or by recording them on the work request card;
To, when necessary, appraise vehicle faults with customers;
If qualified as a Nominated MOT Tester, to carry out tests in accordance with Vehicle Inspectorate guidelines and requirements, using equipment correctly, completing documentation correctly and ensuring the security of the documentation;
To keep the workshop clean and tidy and practice good housekeeping;
To attend training courses, both in house and off site, as deemed appropriate/reasonable by your line manager to support your technical development;
To fully adhere to all Health and Safety Procedures reporting any non-compliance that you are aware of. This includes non-compliance by your colleagues, thus ensuring that you, your colleagues and our customers are protected from any potential hazards;
To ensure customers' vehicles are protected against accidental damage or loss whilst in our care, including protecting them with the appropriate covers etc;
To safeguard all plant and tools against loss or misuse and use all equipment reliably and safely, reporting any defects immediately;
Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager;Hours are Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, Saturdays on a rota.

Salary £28k basic with an on target earnings of £36,000 per annum
