Financial Accountant
Job Type : Contract, Full Time
Salary : £50000 – £70000/annum
Leading City of London law firm is looking to hire a new Financial Accountant, on an initial 6-month FTC with a flexible salary, dependent upon experience of £50,000 to £70,000. This role will be 3 days in the office 2 days working remotely.
Duties will include:
* Providing assistance with the preparation of monthly management accounts, and distribution of monthly management information pack.
* Computation of monthly prepayments and accruals, various control account reconciliations, posting journals, maintain fixed asset register and depreciation computations, analyse and monitor certain key profit and loss items against budget and “last year” and similar compliance work.
* Identifying and accurately processing eligible partner and fee earner commission payments.
* Supporting the Head of Finance to develop and maintain a suite of Management reports.
* Producing weekly reporting of firm-wide fee earner performance statistics and metrics.
* Assistance with annual statutory reporting and SRA compliance.
* Identifying WIP & debt of fee earner leavers, proactively working with the outgoing fee earner/s and the wider Finance team to assist that any debt is collected.
* Sound best practice knowledge and working experience of the SRA’s Account Rules and Regulations.
* Supporting the Head of Finance to implement and deliver any accounting and/or reporting platform changes.
Applicants must have previous management/financial accounts experience and ideally be working towards or be qualified or part-qualified although relevant experience will count as a substitute if able to demonstrate relevant understanding.
Standard hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm with interviews looking to be conducted asap
