Government Procurement & Contracts Solicitor

Salary : £40000 – £70000/annum
Exciting opportunity for a Government Procurement & Contracts Solicitor to be part of an established and growing organisation in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Would you like to advise on nationally-significant contracts and a wide variety of innovative Government tendering? This role represents an excellent opportunity to join my clients successful and award winning Government procurement and contracting team. You would be working in their Edinburgh office and as part of our wider Projects and Construction Group, working with national and local government, major construction firms and the utilities and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Joining their strong and growing team of legal specialists with a wealth of experience in advising their renowned client base, the successful candidate will support a range of Public Sector client teams, including in national Government and Executive Agencies, on a range of very high profile public procurements and public sector interventions. If you would like to advise on leading edge Government contracting, investments and the UK subsidy control regime, and engage with clients at a very senior level, this is for you.
The role also includes advising clients tendering to and contracting with Government in a variety of areas, and you would be working alongside their top-ranked Projects team which advises on operational and new NPD/PPP/PFI projects and other infrastructure work.
Experience Required
Applicants should have experience or an interest in advising public sector and commercial clients in relation to public sector, procurement and commercial contracts. Experience in State aid/subsidy control, competition law and/or public sector governance also would be relevant.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Commercial awareness is essential, together with an interest in public law and policy and an enthusiastic approach to business development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem solving, time management and a client focussed approach to all aspects of day to day tasks.
