Description:
We are currently looking for a kitchen assistant to work on a part time basis for a charity in High Wycombe. The service specialised in helping the elderly and individuals with dementia. Due to the nature of this role being full vaccinated is essential. The ideal candidate must be able to work alternative weekends, in return you will be given the opportunity to work among a friendly and bubbly team.
Job Purpose:
* Basic administrative skills.
* Basic nutrition knowledge.
* Understanding the importance of health and hygiene.
* Good spoken communication skills to relate well to staff and service users.
* Must be able to demonstrate an understanding and awareness of Equality & Diversity.
* Basic computer keyboard skills and the ability to use computer on a regular basis. Examples of the level required may include the use of internet and emails.
* To follow the Catering General Assistant Worksheet as provided each morning by the Catering Manager.
* To maintain the highest standard possible of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, dining, and activity rooms regarding catering.
* Attending all training sessions relevant to the role.
* Reporting any concerns to your Line Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Check cleaning rota.
* Ensuring dining and activity rooms are laid up correctly for dinner.
* Preparing trolleys for both dining rooms.
* Serving dinner.
* Clearing and washing down tables in the dining and activity rooms.
* Tidying and cleaning of the kitchen.
* Sweeping and mopping floors.
* Checking all appliances are off before leaving the kitchen.
* Taking dirty clothes etc to the laundry.
Requirements:
* Any Previous catering/kitchen assistant experience is desired.
* Previous history of a similar role within a care setting is desired but not essential.
* Can do attitude, with a keen attention to detail and the want to help others.
