IT Infrastructure Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £28000 – £33000/annum
Protec Fire and Security Group have a requirement for an IT Infrastructure Engineer, based at our Head Office in Nelson.
A key member of the IT team, the Infrastructure Engineer will provide 3rd line support & implementation for Protec’s customers.
The ideal candidate will have a formal IT qualification and experience, as well as strong interpersonal skills and exceptional technical capability.
Essential knowledge and experience:
* On prem infrastructure
* vSphere VMware
* Windows Server Infrastructure 2012, 2016
* Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
* Azure AD Connect/Sync – Advantage not essential.
* Disaster Recovery
* Networking – Routers/Switches
* Storage
* Mitel or Telephony communications
The ideal candidate, in addition, will have:
Wide ranging knowledge and experience across IT Infrastructure and networking.
Excellent knowledge of backup processes, VSS, Veeam.
Good working knowledge of implementing and maintaining Office 365 in a Hybrid Exchange Environment, Microsoft Phone System, Mimecast, and Enterprise Vault.
High-level knowledge of TCP/IP networking including VLAN’s, switches, routing, and WAN optimisation.
Sophos firewall and VPN experience
Exposure to system monitoring applications
Storage Management using SAN based on (Preferably HP nimble hardware)
Experience of Windows Failover Clustering (VMware)
Knowledge of Antivirus Applications and Policies – Panda Advantageous not essential
Experience with Patching/Deployments
Ideally based a commutable distance from our Head Office. However, we will consider applicants within a reasonable proximity to Nelson, with the option to work a mix of remotely and from the office.
Salary will be dependent of experience, knowledge and credentials
