The ability to instil confidence in the client that the project will complete successfully, is vital. In many cases the Bursar will be very nervous about switching accounting software and part of your role is no nurse them through that worry by giving them confidence.
The job has a degree of autonomy, and you can decide how you want to get things done, within the methodology and guidelines they use. They are much keener on having a happy customer with a good result, than having the methodology followed to the letter and everything done "by the book".
Previous experience of implementing accounting & finance software is essential and if you have experience of a cloud accounting solution, school finance software, a background in accounts or bookkeeping, or an accounting qualification, those would all be useful.
