Implementation Consultant, Cloud Accounting Software

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £35000 – £45000/annum

We are looking for a Software Implementation Consultant to work with a Cloud / SaaS easy-to-use accounting software solution that enables schools and sixth form colleges, to run their accounting, billing and finance and grow and thrive. This finance software sits nicely alongside the rest of the MIS solution, which covers things like health & safety, timetabling, attendance, rotas, report writing and so on. Salary to £42k, possibly up to £45k at a push. You can be based from home anywhere from Derby to Gloucester to London, to Reading, to Stevenage, to Peterborough etc.

The company is doing incredibly well and the Covid crisis has given lots of schools the time and space to push ahead with MIS projects, which gives them a much better cloud based platform to run all the aspects of the school and deliver online teaching. This position is home based (within 150 miles of Cambridge) doing the implementations of the accounting part of the solution. There is very little travel as most implementations can be done remotely as it is a cloud product.

Key points

This role is accounting software implementation and then liaising with the install team and the training team, so you will be given a client and expected to manage that clients project all the way through to the go live stage and subsequent support. You will work with the finance solution to set up the different entities that the school specifically needs.

This is both Project Management and Software Implementation, and the ability to get the clients doing things through careful delegation, management, and briefing and project management is critical. The ability to instil confidence in the client that the project will complete successfully, is vital. In many cases the Bursar will be very nervous about switching accounting software and part of your role is no nurse them through that worry by giving them confidence.

The job has a degree of autonomy, and you can decide how you want to get things done, within the methodology and guidelines they use. They are much keener on having a happy customer with a good result, than having the methodology followed to the letter and everything done "by the book".

Experience

Previous experience of implementing accounting & finance software is essential and if you have experience of a cloud accounting solution, school finance software, a background in accounts or bookkeeping, or an accounting qualification, those would all be useful. They would also be happy to look at accounts people or finance managers, who have worked in schools, have experience of IT, implementing accounts software and working with bursars and would like to move across into software consultancy.

You will be a good communicator, very personable, and happy talking to people who work in the accounts & finance department, and to school bursars and school heads, about their business requirements. There is lots on investment in training and personal development, and very good career prospects.

This is a home based permanent role, but ideally you will live within 100 miles of
