Avocet Staffing are proud to be working alongside Barcham Trees and we are looking to recruit energetic and enthusiastic Horticultural Operatives to work at Barcham’s busy Tree Nursery on the outskirts of Soham.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will initially work in the Despatch department although work may be required in other departments within the business as required on a rotational basis covering key areas within the business and gaining new skills and knowledge along the way.
The Horticultural Operative role is of a physical nature and requires you to work both inside and outside in all conditions and this will include the winter months.
You will be working to targets whilst ensuring your department continues to deliver a high standard product expected by our customers.
We are looking for someone who has a strong work ethic, is self-motivated and has a keen eye for detail.
Key areas are of the business are:
* Production
* Despatch
* Field Production
* Quality Control
Requirements
* You must have a genuine interest in Horticulture but also understand that this work is not ‘Gardening’.
* Full Clean Driver’s license essential.
* Agricultural machinery experience preferred although not essential as full training will be provided.
* PA1 and PA6 qualification preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

This is a full time, permanent position with a salary of £18,500.
The working week will be Mon-Fri 08:00 – 16:30 with overtime/weekend work may be required from time to time. Overtime paid at time and a half.
