HGV Mechanic
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £28000 – £30000/annum Overtime
Brightwork’s client is currently recruiting for a HGV Vehicle Mechanic for their Musselburgh site, where you will be responsible for all maintenance issues and repairs on various machinery.
Purpose of Role
Responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance on HGV and equipment on site. Diagnose and carrying out regular repairs on site vehicles and equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
Maintain, inspect, repair and test vehicles and other equipment
Carry out safety inspections to all HGV vehicles and annual MOT inspections
Fault diagnostics on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
To carry out welding, fabrication and body repairs as required
Carry out fabrication and welding when required
Attend broken down or accident damaged vehicles
Complete associated paperwork
Ensure that all relevant legislation and Health & Safety procedures
Maintain work area in a safe and clean condition
Key Skills:
NVQ Level 3/ HND or City and Guilds
Diagnostic equipment knowledge/experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing
Work effectively within a time frame
Diagnostic qualifications
