We are currently recruiting for a HGV driver to join our team, based at our new state of the art ripening facility at London Gateway, Essex on a permanent basis.

Key duties of the role:

To take responsibility for the vehicle when under your control, ensuring it is kept in a clean and tidy condition, and to carry out routine and regular checks on the vehicle before each journey including oil and fuel, electrics, tyres, general safety and the visual state of the vehicle. To fill out appropriate report sheets and to bring any concerns to the immediate attention of the supervisor.
· To ensure all loads are secured before departure

To complete daily worksheets (job sheet; defect sheet; time sheet)
· To assist with loading or unloading if required, either at depots or if permitted, at customer sites
· To drive vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, remembering at all times that you are a representative of Compagnie Fruitiere UK Limited; to ensure you are respectful on customer premises

To keep a check on driving hours to ensure stay within the law

To re-load trays and pallets as required
*
To drive vehicle in accordance with the schedule to ports, RDCs and markets
*
To ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times; to be aware of different requirements at ports, depots, markets

To fuel up the lorries as required.
Skills required
*
Must hold CPC qualification for drivers
*
Must be the holder of a current LGV licence, and have passed any medicals as may be required
*
A proven good record of driving
*
Smart and professional appearance
*
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
*
Must be flexible and prepared to work whatever hours are required (within legal limits) to suit the needs of the business
