Truly a unique opportunity to work for one of the fastest growing (actually!) e-commerce brands in the UK. They are about to go global, are currently expandeing into a number of countries outside the UK and are now looking for a Head of Engineering (reporting direct to the CTO and management board)
The Head of Engineering will act as the technical authority with complete influence over engineering decisions and the remit to grow a team from 6 engineers to 12 in the immediate future.
With a turnover of over £60million predicted for this year they have trippled their turnover in the last year (insane growth!) these guys are already taking the market by storm and are rapidly becoming one of the most successful e-commerce companies in their particular sector.
They are now looking to hire a Head of Engineering as they look to further scale and ensure their technical product develops at the same pace as their growth. You will be leading a team of 6 (and growing) working on a customer focused e-commerce system where the user experience is at the heart of the system using PHP/AWS/VueJS on the front end. This role will report directly to the CTO and board.
More generally they are redeveloping / redesigning a monolithic product into a more microservices based system and ensuring their technical offering is future-proofed and de-risked.
The company have won numerous awards for their product and have a collaborative and creative culture who welcome growth and learning in all their employees whilst putting the customer experience at the heart of everything they do. They are now really looking to scale and also diversify their product offering so this is a chance to join a "non-risky" startup who have a tried, tested and established product before they really explode.This is a very ambitious business doing phenomenally well but twith lots of collaboration and everyone 'on the same team' – no egos.
Key Skills:
* Strong Technical Leadership as well as business facing experience
* Experience building out e-commerce systems or public facing brands
* PHP / AWS
* Microservices and API Integration
* Building highly robust, public facing software systems
* Payments and/or secure authentication knowledge
