We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Harvest Supervisor to join our team at Agrial Fresh Farms in Colchester. You'll be a key member of our dedicated farming team supplying the freshest salad leaves to market! You'll have experience of growing outdoor wholehead crops and supervising members of your team,
About Us
Agrial Fresh Farms Ltd is one of four UK based sites owned by the French co-operative group, Agrial. Agrial has operations across 18 regions with 280 farming outlets and it's not just about lettuce!
All 4 UK sites operate under the name of Agrial Fresh Produce Limited and fall under Agrial's vegetable division. Our Agrial Fresh Farms site is an Integrated farming operation based in Colchester, Essex. Our salad farm provides baby leaf year-round to the UK, grown in polytunnels, and whole head and outdoor crops throughout the summer. The produce is supplied into our UK sites for processing and distribution. Our business is more recognisable in the UK by our Florette salad brand and we are now one of the UK’s leading producers in the industry. We have a recipe for success through our EPIC values and working together as one team.
Main Responsibilities
* Day to day supervision of the harvesting teams. Report any staffing, quality or quantity issues to the Harvest Manager.
* To ensure that the harvest teams are working within company guide lines and all hygiene and dress code rules in the field are being adhered to.
* To ensure all Health & Safety is adhered to as a matter of principle in line with all company policies.
* Crop walking and attention to detail of all outdoor crops for quality and availabilities, assisting the Harvest Manager on a day to day basis.
* Check that all weekly and monthly start up sheets/ record sheets are complete and up to date, along with daily Tractor/Rig maintenance sheet and the daily cleaning sheets.
* Achieve good control of productivity for the day to day field harvest operations, attempt to keep yields as close to budget or better if possible.
Skills and Experience Required
* Good understanding of Outdoor Wholehead Crops
* Previous harvesting and operational skills.
