Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £25000 – £35000/annum
Working exclusively with a leading highly sophisticated Glasshouse grower of Tomatoes, our client is a customer focused business who pride themselves on delivering superb quality premium tomatoes for major retailers.
Due to on-going developments, there is now a vacancy for a Harvest Manager. The successful candidate will be part of the leadership team located in Suffolk.
The Job
* Work closely and liaise with the Growing Manager re all crop operational management throughout the harvest
* Organise the daily harvest plan
* Produce accurate daily, weekly crop quantity and quality forecasts,
* Monitor costs and discuss with the GM and other Growing Managers.
* Ensure all paperwork and systems are followed by Agency labour
* Assess individual pickers and gangs re picking efficiencies
* Ensure all cropping teams have seasonal and daily spec
The Person
* Genuine interest in Horticulture
* Ideally educated to degree level
* The successful candidate will have experience in managing people, be able to communicate in a clear and effective manner at all levels and possess the ability to develop and maintain good relationships.
* You must be flexible to work a weekend rota and extra hours as the business dictates.
