Duration : Monday – Friday (+ Saturdays when needed)
We are looking for 10 Grounds Maintenance Operative to undertake a range of horticultural/grounds maintenance and sports turf maintenance tasks throughout the Borough of Luton on a temporary basis for the duration of 6 months.
Main Duties:
Undertake grass cutting and other grounds and gardens maintenance duties.
Assist higher graded employees to mark out sports pitches, undertake fine turf maintenance, and gardening duties.
Undertake duties, such as hoeing, weeding, digging, leaf raking, grass cutting, ground working and hedge cutting to the required standards.
Undertake litter picking by hand in parks and amenity areas throughout the Borough to specified standards.
Sweep hard surface areas by hand, as and when required, to remove glass and other extraneous material.Skills and experience:
Some experience of using grass cutting machinery.
Some gardening experience.
Able to use own initiative when undertaking tasks and able to work well as part of a team.
Current valid category B driving licence, to operating ride on machinery and to transport staff and equipment to various sites.
Current valid category B driving licence, to operating ride on machinery and to transport staff and equipment to various sites.
Current First aid certificate.
