A fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing ‘agritech’ who specialise in plant science and discovery for new herbicides.
We are looking for a Glasshouse Technician to join their innovative team. You’ll join a dynamic, collaborative environment and be responsible for day-to-day glasshouse operations support. Performing general duties from maintenance, stock management, replenishment and handling waste/glassware.
The team are looking for a passionate and driven individual with an appetite to learn and progress within the company.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake a full range of daily glasshouse activities including:
* filling pots
* sowing seeds
* transplanting plants
* watering
* applying chemicals
* Carrying out weed assessment after applying the chemicals and collecting data.
* Assisting in the monitoring of pests and diseases in the glasshouse.
* Basic maintenance of equipment (e.g. deep cleaning, checking equipment integrity).
* Monitoring back up stocks and reporting low stocks.
What experience you’ll need:
* Experience in the scientific agricultural field, agronomy or plant science.
* Experience in Glasshouse operations.
* PA1, PA6 qualifications would be highly desirable.
* Awareness of growth and care requirements of plant material in the glasshouse.
* Experience in working in a laboratory would be desirable.
* Computer literate with excellent communication skills. Experience working with Microsoft Teams, Zoom is desirable.
