Purpose of Role

Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a team leader to manage a team of 2 gardeners who will be working at Eltham Palace and Downe House in South East London.

As a secondary layer of supervision, to take responsibility for a section of staff, always ensuring that their work meets Customer expectations; is undertaken efficiently and in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines. Lead by example.

Specific Duties

* To organise from day to day the work team in a way necessary to fulfil customer orders/jobs or schedules. To liaise with the Supervisor when necessary to ensure staff resources are adequate given work demands.

* This will include active supervision and assisting in recording of staff holiday and sickness.

* To ensure that new staff are practically inducted into the Company’s policies and standards and that ongoing on-site training is given in these issues.

* To ensure that all staff put the Customer first, adopting appropriate levels of care, relative to the needs of the customer and maintaining a polite, respectful and helpful attitude at all times.

* To ensure that the presentation of the Company’s customer-facing staff and assets give the most favourable impression at all times and where a uniform is provided to ensure that it is worn.

* To ensure that unsatisfactory performance identified is corrected to contract standards at the earliest possible opportunity.

* To ensure that repetitive or serious complaints are referred to the contracts management.

* Completed work schedules/tickets to be submitted on a timely basis and made ready for onward processing.

* To monitor the day-to-day workings of the section and its individuals having regard to Health & Safety to ensure all necessary and appropriate standards have been implemented and are operating in accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy.

Essential Skills

* Customer relations: Timely reaction to all reports in connection with site visits and client meetings in line with laid down protocols. In the case of customer complaints, to report to the Contract Manager and where able to deal with them personally within twenty-four hours of receipt of the initial complaint.

* Labour management: Accurate and timely submission of paperwork to line management.

* Job administration: Prompt daily submission of all job tickets generated within area of responsibility.

* Health & Safety administration: Immediate reporting of accidents and other safety incidents in line with laid down protocols.
