Overview of the Main Function of the Post:
As a Customs Compliance Specialist you will be managing and advising on all customs compliance matters for our Ireland and UK sites coordinating with our Brexit team based in Dublin and CS Team in Melton Mowbray. You will guide the operation on all customs and bonded warehouse activities to ensure flow and timings planned by our supply chain teams are respected. You will be the sole point of contact for the local Customs Authorities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain a trust-based and effective relationship with Customs authorities
• Ensure customs related operational processes are standardised, followed by all internal stakeholders and
are fit for purpose
• Follow-up on the implementation and daily operations
• Monitoring and reporting of performance, use insights to identify continuous improvements opportunities
on bonded warehouse processes
• Anticipate risks and delays and inform relevant stakeholders to identify solutions and mitigation actions
• Collaborate with Customs, Operational teams in Ireland and the UK and the Brexit team to develop
common standards, share learnings & improvements on ways of working
• To ensure full compliance (entering through to audit) of Customs Documentation for all shipments
• Utilising knowledge of customs tariffs, CPC codes and security declarations to ensure shipments are
cleared in a timely manner.
• Support and advise customers on all international import / export requirements especially with new
processes brought upon by Brexit.
• To advise the business and generate plans to mitigate the risks and take opportunities from Brexit and
other geopolitical and legislative change.
• To ensure the business is constantly compliant with all Customs/HMRC processes and any changes to
legislation are implemented throughout the business.
Key Experience, Skills & Qualities:
• Proven experience in Customs Compliance
• Ability to quickly clear Freight Shipments.
• An understanding of CPC codes, Customs Tariffs and Security Declarations.
• Freight forwarding experience would be desirable.
• An understanding of the post-Brexit environment
• Formal qualification in the Customs / Freight arena would be advantageous.
• Experience in dealing with Customs authorities
• Enjoy working with high level of autonomy, empowered to tackle potential issues
• Used to work in a multi-cultural and international environment
• Capable of building strong relationships based on empathy and trust
• Will have a customs background in either road, air or sea freight and a good knowledge of customs
systems, HMRC regimes and query resolution.

• AEO Knowledge would be desirable.
