Exciting opportunity to join a SME based in Hertford who are entering an exciting period of growth
As Finance Director you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the Finance function as well as strategic financial advisor to the Managing Director & work closely with the SMT and Board.
Responsible for effective management of cashflow, financial risk management, forecasting, and determining the financial strategy as we continue to grow, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Senior Leadership Team at a pivotal stage.
The company offered excellent benefits and after probabtion options to work remotely up to 4 days per week.
The main duties of the role are as follows:
* Autonomous control of the finance function across the group
* Provide full management accounts
* Control of cashflow reporting
* Preparation of budgets and forecasts
* Drive financial planning, forecasting and efficiencies across the business.
* Maintain legal compliance for the company, with a particular focus on tax and VAT compliance.
* Manage and improve reporting.
* Liaise with accountants regarding annual accounts, tax and accounting queries
* Payroll
* Authorise trade loans and bank payments
* Audits
* Insurance renewals
* Management of accounts team – 2 staff
* Review of quarterly royalty submissions
* Build, grow, maintain banking relationships, and ensure that appropriate working capital funding is available as required.
* Help the business to understand where the problems and opportunities are within its operations.
* Manage any mergers/acquisitions and support in due diligence projects.
Commercial responsibilities:
* Support the MD and Senior Management to deliver on their future goals for the business.
* Define, monitor and improve the key metrics by which the business will be measured.
* Participating and developing new business opportunities for the group.
* Identify and supervise the implementation of other technology that will assist and support the finance team and other business functions to be more efficient and data driven.
* You will identify opportunities for automation to ensure efficient and accurate reporting.
* As a senior leader within our business, you will lead by example, demonstrating our company values.
* You will make a significant contribution to our company culture through your behaviours such as management style, focus on our people, and general attitude to our goals and strategy.
* Our ideal candidate would be someone who has proven experience as Head of Finance of FD in or similar senior level within a start-up, up-scaling business or SME.
