The Business
We are working with one of the UK's premier grower and packer of fruit based in Kent. Due to retirement within the business a role has become available for a Farm manager to be part of a wider farm management team responsible to the Production Director or in his absence the Managing Director.
The role
To manage a group of farms for one of the UK premier fruit growers. You will be responsible for annual budgeting and planning as well as the day-to-day management of all fruit crops, associated land, equipment and resources. Conscious addressing issues of productivity, efficiency and environmental impact. You will also manage the annual budgeting of production costs & individual crop, variety and field performance.
The candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to readily gain the trust and understanding of an experienced and motivated team. Someone who is an excellent communicator with clear leadership skills and a confident delegator. Someone will experience with modern production systems across several sites and an understand of the environmental impact of modern agriculture and the drive to reduce and where possible reverse the impact. BASIS and FACTs would be ideal but not essential.
