You will have a hunger to learn, develop and embrace change while leading an exciting and fast-paced team.
Already living in a world of social media, newsletters and analytics, you will have a natural understanding of what makes great digital content and how it should be presented.
Who we are looking for:
* A leader who can coach a team of journalists who will be at the centre of our digital growth plans
* A lead on best practice for engagement, both in terms of content and distribution
* Demonstrate an understanding of our digital audiences, analytics and the content required to increase reader engagement
* A strong understanding of how to react to metrics for social media, newsletters and engagement
* A collaborative team player who will work with their team and the wider business to continually improve performance
* Comfortable in a fast-paced media environment but have the organisational skills to plan ahead
* Flexible, working shift patterns and on weekends
* Have the ability to curate high-quality and engaging newsletters to help cultivate a more loyal audience
* Have the ability to lead on social media campaigns
Skills/experience
* A good understanding of how modern newsrooms and editorial teams work.
* An excellent grasp of tone and its application in communicating publicly with our audiences
* An understanding of data and analytics and how to derive actionable insights.
* Be a strong team player and natural collaborator.
* Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and responding quickly to content opportunities.
* An excellent writer and editor with great news sense.
* A demonstrable background in engaging audiences through social media and newsletters.
* An understanding of media law and the editors’ code.
* Proven leadership skills
