We have a new, fantastic and engaging opportunity of an Editor with a leading publisher of trade books to work on their highly illustrated Children's lists. This position will be responsible for managing all stages of the editorial process and for assisting the Commissioning and Senior Commissioning Editor. The role is full-time, permanent and offers hybrid working options (2 days a week in the London office).

This position will entail:

Conducting pivotal editorial tasks such as copy-editing, structural editing and proof-reading
Ensuring picture and highly illustrated books are ready for production
Working closely with authors, illustrators and freelance agents
Reviewing submissions
Creating copy for sales materials
Maintaining metadata
Supporting the editorial team with administration and any issues

For this role, the client is looking for someone who is an Editor or an Editorial Assistant looking for that next step, with experience in children's illustrated titles. You will have a great attention to detail with an ability to line-edit and copy-write well. You are highly organised, able to take on multiple projects and is ready to assume a hands-on editorial role. You ideally will follow the most recent trends in the children's reading markets for picture books and be passionate about non-fiction children's literature.
