The Design Associate will be responsible for the conceptualisation, creation and delivery of compelling designs for multi-disciplines. Creative work will range from print and interactive digital collateral, large format artwork, digital assets, PPT presentations, HubSpot emails, web pages, customised dispensers and graphics, through to imagery creation and manipulation.
Key responsibilities:
Create assets for print, digital and social media in all stages of the design process
Design and build all digital assets for use in responsive web design
Create custom dispenser designs according to company processes, whilst ensuring design aesthetics are aligned with print production and print-area constraints
Create new images and manipulate existing images that are cohesive and have engaging visual alignment across all sectors
Manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities efficiently to ensure they are all delivered on time and to the highest standard
Manage all workload through Workzone, accurately capturing time and prioritising tasks to achieve set deadlines
Interpret and where applicable, challenge the client’s brief to develop a visual concept to suit their goals
Communicate effectively with all clients to keep them up to date with project/task milestones and deadline dates
Proof-read assets prior to delivery to ensure all work produced is accurate and of high-quality
Routinely upload approved collateral to the SCJ DAM
Proactively maintain and develop brand identities and guidelines
Adhere to file/asset storage and management processes to ensure content is accessible and easy to locate
Adhere to company, and any specific departmental, quality procedures, work instructions and processes
Maintain and share technical knowledge of best practices for print and digital assets
Maintain an awareness of industry and market trends to keep your style up-to-date and relevant
Day to Day Deliverables
Protect the integrity of the company brands by designing all work in adherence to best practice and brand identity guidelines
Proactively seek self-development opportunities and upskill to support the design development and marketing strategy
Proactively identify opportunities for growth and development in the design services we offer
Continuously improve through feedback
Provide coaching and training to team members in a positive and supportive manner
Actively contribute to Design meetings and creative sessions with new design ideas
Represent the Design Team in projects and campaign meetings
Ensure that all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to at all times
Active involvement in Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives, including identifying hazards and near misses, participation in audits and behavioural safety initiatives, and proactive actions to support our world class safety standards
Previous experience / knowledge:
Essential
Minimum 2 years graphic design experience
Minimum 1 years’ experience in Adobe Creative Suite software, Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop
Experience in designing for print, digital and social media
Firm understanding of technical / design requirements for print and digital applications
Willingness to acquire new skills in design tools and software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrable experience of working to tight deadlines and adhering to critical paths
Desirable
Mac literate
Experience in video editing software; Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro
Experience in HTML software; Adobe Dreamweaver
Experience in image editing software; Adobe Lightroom
Experience in 3D rendering software; Keyshot, Maya
Experience working with Project Management and Collaboration software
Experience working with Digital Asset Management Platforms
