Salary : £25 – £36/hour

Design Engineer – Engine Installation

Up to £36/hr – Inside IR35

Desford, Leicestershire (Hybrid working – 3 days in office)

12 month initial contract

A Design Engineer opportunity has become available for one of the world’s leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

You will be responsible for the design of a range of components and assemblies such as engine and aftertreatment mounting, moulded hose design, cooling systems and exhaust systems into off-highway vehicles.

Design Engineer – Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

CAD Design of components and assemblies in CREO.
Completion of component and group drawings.
Participating in Design Reviews, FMEA's
Management of engineering changes through Teamcenter life cycle management.
Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams
Involving other engineers and technical resources to address detailed technical problems.
Working with a global team that requires virtual collaboration.
Working with design resources and suppliers to rapidly implement design changes.
Support manufacturing with engineering investigations and product design improvements
Work one on one with technicians during prototype development in the prototype shop
Required Competencies / experience / qualifications

Experience of off highway engine installation and/or machine design and development
Experience in engine installations
Working knowledge of solid modelling and product life management (CREO and Teamcenter preferred)
Understanding of design for manufacturing / design for assembly philosophies
Control and communication of cost, quality, and schedule constraints
Engineering Degree Qualification or HND with experience
Steel fabrication design and hose routing knowledge
