We’re looking for a motivated and forward-thinking person to become the newest member of the team as a Design Engineer. You will join the Production team becoming critical in the ongoing development of the established product range as well as design of new products.
The job:
You’ll be driving forward progress and innovation in vehicle designs and production processes; this will include making improvements to well-established products as well as working to bring new vehicle designs from concept to reality. You’ll work closely with the Technical Manager, the Senior Design Engineer, and the entire production team to help bring positive change to the production process:
Key competencies:
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes
* Metal forming – casting, machining, joining (welding, mechanical fasteners, epoxy, etc.), and deformation processes, composite materials.
* Creation of BoMs
* Mechanical engineering design
* Design for Manufacture & Assembly DFM/DFA Coaching, mentoring, and training
* Adhere to British and international standards.
* Undertake design work as per the requirements of the Technical Manager.
* Give support to other departments on engineering problems associated with the product range.
* Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour required.
Skills and Experience:
* Inventor (3D CAD)
* Vault (PLM Product Lifecycle Management)
* Excel
* Microsoft dynamics (NAV)
* ERP Systems
