Are you a talented design engineer looking for a freshing challenge with the freedom to utilise creativity within R&D to develop leading products for a customer base?
Our client based in Stonehouse is looking for a Design Engineer to be a leader of the design and development for their next generation products. This highly collaborative role uses engineering and creativity to conceptualise innovative solutions to customer challenges, convert them into working prototypes, before developing and refining them into production ready designs.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to commercial briefs for product specifications.
Developing innovative ideas for new products.
Have experience managing products/ projects from concept to completion.
Creating engineering drawings to obtain design approval.
Designing new products on 3D CAD (currently siemens NX).
Design of fixtures and test equipment.
Prototyping new products as required.
Testing new products and using analysis to review / improve product design.
Testing and evaluating competitors’ products.
Ensure all processes are adhered to and documentation completed.
Liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors.
Verify designs with supporting documents and/or calculation.
Person Specification:
Product Design experience
Designing components for plastic injection moulded components is desirable.
3+ years’ experience
Background experience of 3D CAD is essential.
Siemens NX experience would be highly advantageous.
Experience liaising with tooling and manufacturing engineers is preferred but not essential.
Practical workshop experience to work on prototypes etc.
Education
BSc/ BEng / HND or similar qualification in Engineering or a related field.
