Data Analyst TV/Media
Job Type : Contract, Full Time
Salary : £210 – £235/day bonus, 25 days holiday, pension
This is an initial 12 month contract with potential to convert to permanent, an exciting opportunity to join this world leader in Consumer Electronics working as a Data Analyst in the product management team working on a suite of owned and operated global products developed for use on a range of Smart TVs and mobile devices. You will ideally have previous experience of working in data and insights capacity within digital or OTT service, TV/media and entertainment and have knowledge of how data can be used across a business to inform decision-making and drive value and validated experience in deriving insights and value from data to improve viewer acquisition and retention. Experience of taking ideas from concept to finished product whilst retaining creativity and singularity of purpose and effective planning and organisational skills. The ability to lead several initiatives at once and prioritising tasks efficiently, and reacting to late requests and constantly evolving events. You will need to have a genuine passion for Video on Demand and TV products with a desire to build the best product experience.
Our team is new and rapidly growing! Our principal products include a subscription service that provides fitness and health content on TVs, and TV Plus, which offers extensive TV channels and video on demand free of charge.
2021 is shaping up to be both lively and exciting! With support from design, development and PM teams from around the world, we will be greatly growing our existing products and rolling them out on different devices and in new European territories.
The main responsibilities include analysing data to provide insights and recommendations for content consumption and engagement. It will also be very important to improve scorecards and decision engines to identify areas of improvements or change.
There are many ways we can influence visitors and increase their level of engagement. Converting from casual visitors to active viewers, or from active to engaged viewers is critical to our product strategy. Data-driven decision-making is central to our efforts within this funnel framework.
You will use multiple data sources to analyse, track, interpret and make clear and concise recommendations to the business on growth and revenue-building strategies, maintaining and improving regular critical metric reporting to important team members using a range of BI and presentation tools, including teams across commercial, marketing, editorial and HQ, Identify and prototype new data processing projects to gain new insights into viewer behaviour: there is a constant need to refine our understanding of product usage, develop our capacity to predict performance and behaviour using AI and ML methods. Support the expansion of the product by incorporating new content partners, tech integrators, new territories and devices into existing reporting
Commission and run ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative projects as required
Any experience in the following is advantageous
* Knowledge of the concepts and methods behind AI and ML when used to predict outcomes or results
* Working knowledge of SQL and ETL methods would be an advantage
* Advanced spreadsheet skills and good working knowledge of visualisation tools such as Data Studio, Domo, Tableau or Quicksight
* Experience of working for a large company spread across multiple locations and time zones where the spirit of collaboration, tolerance and patience can sometimes be required
