£45,000 – £48,000 plus £5,000 car allowance
37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Nationwide (Head office based in Suffolk)
We are currently searching for a Concept and Development Lead Chef to work closely with our Heads of Services and external suppliers, to generate continual improvement of all food related aspects within the business including recipes, dishes & menus. If you hve experience developing high quality cuisine and in Head Chef Management, this role could be for you!

Main responsibilities include:
* To be fully responsible for the creation and development of innovative food products within the business
* To create/refresh existing ranges/brands to keep up with the latest food and ingredient trends as well as monitoring competitor’s products
* To assist in the development of culinary projects as agreed with the Head of Service
* To lead and drive forward the Vertas Catering Academy ensuring timely output is achieved
* To lead on the Vertas Chef of the year competition and lead the development of new future events
* Support food styling by assisting the Business Development team & D&P team in terms of food presentation by providing high quality content to shoot for brands manuals and social media etc
* Provide samples/ tasters for SWG internal and external customer submissions and presentations as well as undertaking competitor and cost analysis
* Line Management of Trust Development chefs to ensure consistency in service and product throughout the business and customer portfolio
* To train and develop caterers across the business and demonstrate flair and passion in your area of expertise to inspire engagement and involvement from peers
Experience Required:
* Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification or above
* Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Successful background in catering
* Management experience
* Ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
* An HND or degree in food product management, food technology or a related subject
* City & Guilds 706 (Parts 1 and 2), or the NVQ equivalent qualification, alongside a certificate in food hygiene
* Experience of managing food-based projects
* Excellent attention to detail and service excellence
Any qualifications gained from your background as a chef will be considered.
