Civils Estimator
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £50000 – £60000/annum
Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a well-respected groundworks/civils contractor based in Cambridge who operate across East Anglia.
Due to a healthy order book now and for the foreseeable future my client are looking to recruit an additional civils Estimator to their commercial team. The majority of their clients are new build residential developers so experience working on these types of projects would be advantageous
The Role
* To carry out the estimating and bidding process and to provide a high quality competitive proposal to clients mainly new build residential developers.
Duties:
* Review tender information and log information
* Take off and measure from drawings and specifications to provide a detailed Bill of Quantities.
* Provide a cost sheet for labour plant and materials
* Liaise with our Buyer in obtaining material and subcontract prices.
* Liaise with client team with any request for information
* Price the bill of quantities.
* Present the tender/quotation to the Directors for review before submission
* Submit the tender on time and in the manner required by the tender documentation.
* Develop and maintain estimating software.
Qualities and Experience
* You should be experienced in estimating within the civils/heavy groundworks sector
* You should have good people skills in order to build long-lasting relationships with clients
