We are recruiting for a talented Butcher, with exceptional standards, to join the small team at a farm shop located near Cheltenham. You will be joining a fantastic business with strong family values and a reputation for looking after their staff.
The Role
Butchery
Delivering an outstanding experience to all customers.
Creating inspiring, innovative, seasonally changing displays
Ensuring self-serve displays in chillers are attractive and shoppable
Proactively sharing product information with the team and with customers
All due diligence – COSHH, Health and Safety, Food Safety etc.
Stock Control
The Candidate
ü Strong butchery experience with extensive knowledge of all aspects of butchery and meat preparation
ü The ability to cut and bone carcass meat (beef, lamb, pork, venison),
ü The ability to follow specific in-house recipes to make in-house sausages, burgers, faggots
ü A passion for food
ü Excellent customer service and sales skills
ü Commercial awareness and the understanding of yields and costs
ü Be a good communicator at all levels
ü Be honest, reliable and dedicated
ü Due to use of machinery, minimum age of applicants is 18 years
ü Intermediate Food Hygiene would be desirable (but not essential)
This is a full-time position, DAYS ONLY. You will work 5 days from 7 (including Sundays).
The successful candidate will be joining a multi-award winning vertically integrated family business with an excellent reputation in their sector and a strong customer base.
In return for meeting the above criteria the successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive hourly rate of between £11-11.41 an hour (remuneration dependant on skills and experience), access to the pension scheme, store discount and free onsite parking. Full training will be given and uniform will be provided.
