Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre is an award-winning 47 bed centre providing specialist person-centred assessments, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with an acquired brain injury or other complex neurological condition including behaviours that challenge. The centre is located in Lanarkshire just off the M8, with easy access to Glasgow and Edinburgh. We employ staff in a variety of different roles and provide on-going support with comprehensive training, learning and development opportunities.
We are looking for a Bank Kitchen Assistant to work with the team on an adhoc basis to cover annual leave and absences. Working hours vary but are normally between 8am and 6pm.
​Working within the kitchen and dining area you will help to provide nutritious and enticing home cooked meals for the patients in our care. You will be responsible for ensuring mealtimes are an enjoyable part of the day, engaging patients in the dining experience.
As a Kitchen Assistant your main duties will be:
• Provide excellent quality meals within the hospital, with the aim of achieving the highest levels of satisfaction for patients in our care.
• Developing a positive relationship with all patients, staff and other visitors to the hospital by becoming an integral part of the team.
• Preparing dining areas to create a safe and enjoyable environment for patients at mealtimes.
• Maintaining a clean hazard free kitchen and dining area in order to minimize risks to patients and employees of the hospital.
• Working safely within company policies, seeking advice and guidance when necessary
To join the team as a Kitchen Assistant you will have:
• A good knowledge of food hygiene and food preparation
• A positive attitude and a desire to deliver the best possible service to patients in our care.
• Flexibility to work shifts with an adaptable attitude
• The ability to communicate at all levels
