Baker
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £10.42 – £12.25/hour
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for overseeing the daily production of bagels and other baked goods at the bakery
* Working closely with the General Manager to ensure a smooth and efficient daily baking production
* Prepare + present bagels + schmear’s products, following our recipes + specifications. This will include, but is not limited to:
* Prepare the ovens and equipment ready for baking
* Measuring + weight of wet + dry ingredients
* Using mixers to blend ingredients
* Kneading + shaping of dough
* Following procedures for dough rising + resting
* Responsible for maintaining quality and consistency in taste, presentation and appearance according to recipes and pictures; with discrepancies being rectified immediately.
* Recipe development for the right candidate.
* Adhere to all health + safety requirements, including food hygiene regulations
* Keep the kitchen clean, safe + up to a high standard by following our cleaning practices
* Work as a team with the other team members, supporting each other during busy periods

General Information
Due to the dynamic nature of the business, job descriptions are subject to review. Some roles will require you to be 18+ due to the equipment we use in the bakery. Job holders are expected to be flexible and may be required to undertake duties which are not described in those above. Reviews will be undertaken when necessary, by management in consultation with the employee. It is necessary to be flexible due to specific staffing requirements and as much notice will, of course, be given. The staff work as a team and, as a small team, we expect all our staff to support each other and have the flexibility to get involved in activities as and when it is needed and appropriate.
