Salary: up to £30,000 per annum DOE + phone, laptop and use of farm vehicle

Location: Canterbury

Our client, an innovative, family-owned agricultural business based across Kent, have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Farm Manager to join them in Canterbury.

Duties include:

Develop, maintain and carry out production and labour plans, with the right levels of resources and support to achieve an efficient, high standard farming environment and quality produce.
Develop and maintain systems for accurately recording the use and stock levels of raw materials such as packaging, chemicals, crops, and equipment. Produce Management Information reports regularly as needed.
Lead, coach and develop the Farm team so they are engaged and meeting both personal and business goals and objectives.
Share ideas and develop best practise in collaboration across the business.
Develop and use KPIs and other Management Information to create a culture of continuous improvement and lean farming that can be shared across the business.
Know and adhere to all policies and procedures to always maintain food safety and health and safety compliance.The successful candidate will have:

Experience in a similar role, with a good knowledge of arable farming methods.
Good interpersonal skills with proven people management skills.
Commercial awareness and a methodical approach to things.
Ideally, a spray operator ticket, with experience of irrigation and root crop production.
HND/Degree in an agricultural discipline, although not essential.
Great communication skills.
