Assistant Catering Manager – Churchill Catering, part of the Vertas Group Limited
High Lodge Cafe Thetford
37.5 hours per week 52 weeks a year
Up to £28,000 per year
Main Purpose of the Job:
* Lead the team to provide excellent customer service.
* Ensure the efficient day to day running of the cafe.
* Deputise for the Manager in their absence.
* Assist with preparing rota's.
* Ensure excellent food and hygiene standards are maintained.
* Assist with staff training.
* Manage stock control and ordering.
* Manage daily opening/closing procedures.
* Handle any escalated queries.
* To lead the preparation, cooking and presentation of all foods served in the unit as required.
* To ensure that the health and safety regulations are observed and adhered to.
* Adhere to the safe and hygienic working practices.
* To monitor cleanliness of work surfaces, equipment and any other cleaning duties as required to the kitchen cleaning schedule.
Experience:
* Previous experience of working within a retail or hospitality environment would be an advantage.
* Understanding of food and hygiene standards.
* Previous experience of supervising others.
* Be able to prioritise customer service levels.
* Have the desire to progress.
* Bring your own ideas to the table.
Key Objectives and Skills:
Customer service.
Skills in both management and administration in order to lead a team, allocate resources and make intelligent decisions about the best strategies for running the business.
Knowledge of basic mathematics, accounting, in order to meet the café’s Budget.
Good management of time and organizational skills to handle a multitude of tasks efficiently and be able to prioritize.
