Conrad Consulting are working alongside a well-established design consultancy who have forged a reputation as market leaders in the Extra-Care sector. For over 20 years they have assisted their clients in delivering successful schemes that respond to the growing demand for care accommodation in the UK – making this opportunity one with a promising future.
Their experience ranges from new build projects to refurbishments and extensions and they have been involved in the development of well over 100 care facilities, primarily care homes but also extra care apartments, assisted living developments and learning disability housing.
The company are going through an exciting period of growth as they look to capitalise on their successes by recruiting leading Architectural professionals to ensure that this development of the business continues on the current trajectory!
As an Architect with this firm, you will be required to design and manage various projects for new-build schemes, the spaces in and around the buildings as well as the restoration, refurbishment and conservation of older buildings.
In addition, the role necessitates developing new ways of repurposing existing buildings in order to produce successful schemes with a commercial viability whilst also maintaining and being sensitive to the original building heritage. Involvement in construction projects will be from the earliest stages right through to completion. The role works under the direction of a Partner or other Senior members of the practice but minimal supervision and independent working is expected
Architect Requirements:
RIBA/ARB Accredited Architect
Minimum 2 years UK Architecture experience post Part 3 qualification
Previous experience of working in the care accommodation sector – highly desirable
Strong visual awareness and an eye for detail
Excellent drawing skills, with the ability to work in three dimensions (3D)
Understanding and knowledge of legislation relevant to the construction industry regarding specific building types
Good knowledge of the UK planning application process and UK Building Regulations
Proficient in working with AutoCAD, REVIT and SketchUp
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & InDesign
Excellent communication skills
Valid UK driving licence.
